Finding Stillness Amidst Distraction

As soon as I passed this spot on the creek, it called for a balance.. It is Spring again :D and the creek is slowly beginning to rage as the snow-pack melts from the mountains… normally during the winter this drainage tube trickles water into the low creek.. but now it is a large feeder for the creek as it channels increasing water into the Boulder Creek.. as it rages, the turbulent white water creates a perfect frame around this boulder sitting front and center.. :)

I do not recommend this spot for beginners as the raging water can grow quite violent AND slightly dangerous.. there is a small area around this base boulder wear it drops almost waste deep..

The challenge for balancing here is the turbulent water vibrating my body as I seek the still point :)  Aside from getting soaked in the process, there is constant splashing water attacking my eyes… and the balance required a slight intended wind resistance as the water pressure coming from the drainage tube carried a steady air flow that would collapse most fine balance lines.. :)  all in all, the process took at least an hour to finally realize, and even then, the balance only remained for about 20 minutes.. :)  Well worth it…

But the most magic was in the moment of balance as I removed my hands.. I turned around to see a crowd of people in awe at the possibility of such a creation… I’ve grwon slightly used to this, but this time was very memorable because I saw a few open jaws in disbelief :D   I LOVE when that happens :)
