Reflecting on Death, RIP Oli

Today someone died all too early and I did not know him personally, but his untimely death has affected many close friends.  I cannot help but be affected as well. Although I am slightly at a loss to express my condolences, perhaps I can offer my art in this situation…….. since there is a deep connection of this art to the cycles of impermanence….. these balances specifically, were birthed and collapsed during Oli’s last day on earth..

So, I offer these images for my many friends who have been touched by the life and death of Oli…. All I ask is that pain and suffering be forgotten and that his life be celebrated… Seeing the outpouring of positive memories all over his Facebook profile, leaves me INSPIRED.  Oli had so many amazing friends that truly loved his company and shared experiences… I am left wishing I could have shared some of these experiences, but alas, it was not my place…. I am sure he now rests in a better place.  Sending lots of love out to everyone affected…

“There would be no chance at all of getting to know death if it happened only once. But fortunately, life is nothing but a continuing dance of birth and death, a dance of change. Every time I hear the rush of a mountain stream, or the waves crashing on the shore, or my own heartbeat, I hear the sound of impermanence. These changes, these small deaths, are our living links with death. They are death’s pulses, death’s heartbeat, prompting us to let go of all the things we cling to.” – Sogyal Rinpoche
