International Women’s Day

Today I revisited the mandala I started yesterday.. I had to rebuild 4 of the 7 balances, and also added a ring of rocks around the space.. :)  My focus was making all the balances as close to equal height as possible.. including the center.  I love creating mandalas like this… the space takes on a powerful energy as the dimensions and geometry become visible… and, the ring of rocks around the perimeter serve to create a localized stillness in the creek flow… It can be seen easily here as the interior reflects the trees and rocks much clearer than  the surrounding flow.. :)  Inside the mandala there is a sense of stillness… like the eye of a storm.. :)

“You are a divine being. You matter, you count. You come from realms of unimaginable power and light, and you will return to those realms.” ~ Terence McKenna

Below is the mandala just as the sun sets behind mountain and impending snow storm.. The atmosphere ominous… and beautiful in the mandala’s presence…

Michael, thank you for sharing your amazing pictures and your ideas about life
This mandala is beautiful! And I think you’re right about the fact that this structure makes the enegry of the place stronger and more organized… This rock mandala gives me a feeling of energy flowing up my spine as I look at its picture :)

  2. I love that you created a circle with the rocks, in a sense “connecting” all of the rock balances. It feels more “finished” and definitely has a different “energetic” effect even in the photo. And what a lovely reflecting pool affect *in* the circle. Yes, circles are powerful symbols of wholeness, oneness; a “sacred” space of stillness…
