Recently I read a book called “Ghosts Among Us” by James Van Praagh…  It was a quick and interesting read about everything to do with dimensions of life AFTER the physical body…

“In the spirit world, there is no time as we know it. Past and future do not exist. All ‘time’ is now.” ~ James Van Praagh

the book really got me thinking about various aspects of my life.. how I feel about death… if by chance I died suddenly, would I be ready? have I taken good advantage of my limited time on Earth? What about letting those close to me KNOW that I love them and that I think of them often..?

Since I’ve been here in Sweden for the summer, I’ve been looking more inward than before and practicing things like dream recollection.. reading about astral projection, lucid dreaming, ghosts, presences….basically more about dimensions of spirit… I’ve normally been a believer that most if not all experiences happen for some reason.. no matter how fucked up or enlightening each may seem… so here I am, in the middle the north Sweden countryside, surrounded by a loud silence.. love.. and weather unfriendly for balancing rocks… (most of the time)  …as if the universe is telling to focus elsewhere for the time being… I still love balancing rocks.. and take advantage of the rare opportunities to balance… but I am also learning to appreciate the smallest of things otherwise.. Where I used to become frustrated with wind, I’ve let go and adapted… perhaps why I’ve been reading much more often than in the past…

One dream that happened recently, now that I think back, was about becoming a ghost… in the dream, I remember hearing that my family had arrived home.. During the dream, I didn’t know I was having a ghost dream… but the experience reflected some of the reading from the book.. the way some ghosts take awhile to realize they have actually died in the physical sense.. how many spirits try very hard to contact their loved ones to settle “loose ends”… missed “I love you”s… etc.

At a certain point in the dream I remember frantically bouncing around the main room where my family was… the creepy part was that they had NO idea I was there and could not perceive my presence.. I was the ghost in the dream… trying tirelessly to make contact with my family… and completely powerless to do so… the experience was unnerving… and really got me thinking about the people in my life that love… anyway… maybe this sounds like a lot of psychobabble to some.. but for me it was a very somber experience…

the Lesson?  Tell the ones you love, that you do so… make your love known. don’t put things off until it’s convenient.. if you love someone, TELL them… you never know when the moment of death will come and the opportunity REALLY disappears. Similarly, don’t take things for granted… if they seem less than ideal, they are not. Everything is a teacher in some way, shape, or form. <3

A few years ago a work friend of mine was killed in a road accident on his way to work. This event hit me more than I would of thought. I think I then realised that death could come at any time. When young you never really contemplate death, it wont come to you, it only happens to others. I’m sure my friend had the same thoughts. Ever since, no matter what time in the morning I go to work, I will always kiss my wife and tell her I love her as she sleeps.

There are a couple of remarkable teachings that might speak to your deeper nature, your stillness and yearning to know… They are “What is Creation?” and “What Happens After Death?” Both received in Boulder, CO through mysterious means by a living messenger of God… Marshall Vian Summers.

New Knowledge Library offers them – a small local publishing company.

Thank you for your work… I am moved… to stillness… in a place of expansive connection.

  3. Some of us have the experience of frantically bouncing around the room with family and them not having a clue that we are there while we are alive :). They cannot perceive our presence, even though they may see us physically, they cannot really *see* us – if you know what I mean. We are just a ghost to them. Eventually we stop bouncing around the room trying to get them to notice us… :)

  4. Teri, that was the main focal point for lining up the image :) glad you noticed it :) I imagined the rock slicing through the horizon… Thank You Renato!! :)
