I live for rocks and sunsets. never gets old. <3
a. second variation during sunset. notice the HUGE burn scaring on the background mountains.
b. third variation. post sunset. + remote flash
c. third variation. chillin in the dark.
despite everything being fine, sky on fire, i changed the arrangement mid sunset because i wanted to see without the blocky rock.
removing one rock and flipping the rock below it (right <–> left), while keeping everything above the blocky rock more or less the same, made a huge change in the flow and CURVE of the finished arrangement. not to mention i enjoy racing the sun. :))
if you’re curious, the FIRST variation (not pictured here) was exactly like the second, but minus the third rock down (the long rounded rock hanging out to the right)
favorite variation? definitely the third. (thanks to trusting my impulse)
favorite atmosphere? during sunset.
but it’s all pretty damn beautiful. <3
Colorado Springs, CO, USA
This visit to Colorado Springs was to help care for a family member during surgery. So i figure, I can worry, which is generally a “misuse of imagination”, or I can practice peace and positivity while at the same time putting forth healing intentions. <3
“I began to understand that suffering and disappointments and melancholy are there not to vex us or cheapen us or deprive us of our dignity but to mature and transfigure us.”

Looks like the big island of Hawaii, very cool!
One of the yoga principles is detachment. Suffering and disappointments and melancholy are caused by our attachment to the thing that causes us the pain and disappointment and melancholy.
