Sometimes, when wind strikes… a good natural shelter is the forest… this can be applied metaphorically as well for stress in life… whatever it may be. Sometimes it’s necessary to go inward for peace and stillness.. and certainly with stone balance, there is no shortage of practicing inward movement. The calm spot of yesterday is windy today, so I adapt.
I actually enjoyed this new place quite a bit more… the soft lush green in forest is calming for the mind. The tress shelter the wind. and this spot happened to be bordered by a pedestrian walkway (behind the camera). Balancing here attracted quite a bit of attention as people become naturally curious of the unknown.. and upon knowing, pure intrigue follows when seemingly impossible things appear before our eyes. I continue to search for words to describe how much I love doing this.. the way it brings people together… the way it focuses positive energy, silence, meditation.
I consider myself lucky that my skill developed naturally along boulder creek often under the watchful eye of curious observers… Some people get so nervous at the thought of people watching them balance… they always feel pressure to make it “good”…. Personally, I thrive under pressure, especially with stone balance.. the trick is to tap into the flow of your surroundings. draw energy from the observers themselves. and in turn channel that energy back into the creations, which creates a positive spiral of energy. the best part is when a stimulating balance keeps on collapsing with the first breeze that breaches the surrounding trees…. and each time there is the opportunity to rebuild in a slightly different way.. Here I must also stress the importance of PRACTICE. practice practice practice…. fucking PRACTICE. that’s a large part of how I can make performances LOOK so flawlessly ninja… ♡ :)
Fully fucking awesome:)
