I love the angles of sunlight in this sequence, how it lights up specific contours of the top.. exceptionally beautiful.. especially with the ice!

I never cease to be amazed with your work. Great shot!
Is this for this morning
Only one topstone has fallen others were still standing
Amazing I admire your talent
I was joking
But yes a little bit of ice helps.
Last night I was at the beach stacking some rock. This morning I went out to see if they were still standing. Some of them had fallen others were still standing, when I looked at the ones that were still standing I noticed that there was a tiny bit of between the rocks.
This is from last night
the ice is really effective in your balancing act
i think it’s about to change again :x
the ice helps in a way, but moreso, ice, IS the cause of collapse. the rocks must already be balanced in order to start accumulating ice in such a way.. and the ice itself is what always dislodges the rocks slightly while freezing, but by that point the ice is so strong that it holds the dislodged rocks until temps rise and weaken the ice enough for gravity to finish the job. however, the whole pattern changes drastically if i’m building in -10 C or lower air temps. then yes, the wet rocks will freeze almost instantly out of the water. . . which is, in my opinion, the harshest weather i’ve experienced to be balancing rocks in a creek.
Awesome capture!
Ice ice baby. You inspire me everyday.
