“When every detail of our life is planned and regulated, and every fraction of time determined beforehand, then the last trace of our boundless and timeless being, in which the freedom of our soul exists, will be suffocated.”

Again and again, the art of stone balance reminds the practitioner of non-attachment; Letting go of the controls that so many, so obsessively, cling to… including myself.  There is a certain freedom felt when we no longer have control. It really depends on how we approach situations.  One major element is that of an open heart versus a closed heart. I know the concept is quite abstract and far from black and white, but in my experience it is real.  I’ve experienced both sides of the coin, where I react to loss of control by shutting down my creative flow.. a fear based response..  But then there is the other side, which can only be developed through practice… and that is taking the leap, giving up all control and flowing purely with the passing moments.  This demonstrates an open heart. following intuition. FULL Acceptance of circumstance. silencing the mind. all of which are central aspects of stone balance….

Now, the challenge is applying these skills to the rest of life.
