Diary of a Rock Balancer ::

Stone Balance Art created and photographed by Michael Grab — 25 May 2016 — Istria, Croatia ::

These pebbles were each about the size of my thumbnail… quite a challenge blending such micro precision with relatively large top weight. also with minimal friction to work with… frustrating. but hugely satisfying and surprising to reach zero. interesting sensation channeling my senses into both micro and macro realms of balance simultaneously…

first thought: “this is impossible, but fuck it, i’m curious.”

my last concern here was photographic composition. first concern was sitting in a comfortable place for longterm experimentation.

quite surprised it even worked out after a couple hours of hopeless slips and restarts. maybe the romantic dreamer inside kept pushing forward as usual. . . just in time for another lovely sunset. I’m beginning to spoil myself with all this sunset madness. each one kinda feels like a death and rebirth.
