“You want to know the difference between a master and a beginner? The master has failed more times than the beginner has ever tried.”

~ Yoda

One of the treasured experiences of balancing internationally is getting into random (or not so random) conversations with locals of wherever i’m working.

Usually i gain some kind of insider perspective of the place, which often reinforces my own experiences there..

For example, an older local fellow approached me while i was photographing this balance last night. Him and his partner come to this beach to watch the sunset each night and have been observing my activities over the past few days, unbeknownst to me until now. He told me that they loved my work and began telling me how the region of Istria is a “Magic Land”.. which i kind of already sensed after spending considerable time balancing here… not to mention the ambient sunset light of the moments he spoke. It really does have a specific magical beauty about it, and has grown to be one of my favorite places to practice. And i recon the magic can be seen through viewing my collection of work here over the last year as well. . .
