The challenge of building larger freehand arches for me is achieving an arch line up to my standards (not to mention extreme physical exertion), in this case while getting hit with waves at high tide. At some point I just have to settle with relative (im)perfection. Finally reached this stopping point after about 4-5 solid hours of building/over-adjusting/rebuilding — which was an hour or so after high tide yesterday, late afternoon, This photo was shot about 2 hours after that, once things relaxed a bit…

span between the two inside edges of the base rocks here is roughly 60-70 cm . . . (is my best guess)
