This is my new favorite rock spot in Costa Rica. Many of the beaches are sandy but a few here and there also have abundant rocks. And exceptionally hard with smooth curvy edges from the ocean.

So the general process here is show up around noon, with a cooler full of lunch snacks and WATER!..and just kinda lose myself in the environment.. lots of rocks and wildlife to look at! The place is ALIVE! Indescribable pleasure to look at this place in such detail. <3

  1. ‘Gravity Glue guy’ – I hope you see this post. I want to tell you how your work has been touching me, especially this most recent series you’ve been doing on the beach.
My wife and I were expecting our first son in early 2006. Ryan was born premature at 23 weeks, and we only had 3 short days to spend with him before God called him Home. Since then, we’ve been blessed with two more boys, yet we still consider ourselves a ‘family of 5’, even though we’re a party of 4. And in addition, we have always enjoyed the beach, but since Ryan’s passing, we’ve found it a particularly special place for our family. Somewhere we can go to rejuvenate our souls, and leave the world and all its troubles and stress behind, even if it’s just for a day or two. Peaceful, and sometimes even feeling like our family is somehow all together.
So as much as I do enjoy your work – and I do – a LOT! – your beach builds have reached deeper down inside than the others. You may not realize it (and I may not be the only one), but I have found a connection to your work that is peaceful, encouraging, and inspiring.
Thank you, and please don’t stop doing what you do, and never stop sharing it with us. Someday maybe our paths will cross and I can shake your hand and thank you in person.

    1. Thanks, Dagny! Even in the midst of pain, He has chosen to reveal glimpses of His faithfulness and goodness to our family.
Thank you for taking the time to respond!

  2. Absolutely beautiful…the light and reflection, the colors of sunet, the distant rain…the top rock’s halo…the open space…If I check your website, can I order this print?
